IT IS ONE A.M.

Sitting by

An illuminated window

Soft and cozy

Nestled in blankets

It is one a.m.

Should be sleeping

Mind racing

Mind wandering

As time passing by

Listening

Rain

Heavy and steady

Cool breezes

Creeping through

The cracks of a window

Cold

But refreshing

Wind rumbling

Whistling

Rain

Heavy and steady

Necessities kept

It is one a.m.

Should be sleeping

Mind wandering

With the rain

As time passes by

Mind wandering

With the rain

Companion

In hand

Shivering breezes

Mind wandering

With the rain

It is one a.m.

Should be sleeping

Mind wandering

With the rain

With the wind

Wandering

Racing

It is one a.m.

Is this it?

AUTUMN’S BREW

Autumn is brewing

Rain splashing

Against windows

Winds gusting

Like ferocious lions

Leaves in a cyclone

Swirl and twirl

Being carried askew

Branches sway and creek

The wind’s nip

Creeping in

From a slightly opened window

Twigs and small branches

Tumbling down

Greeting

The leaves laden grass

Rain falling

Trees swaying

Wind is blowing

Like the surf

Of a rolling sea

Autumn is brewing

Its trick or its treat

Just in time

For

All Hallows Eve

SUMMER’S RAIN

Summer’s eve

Rain falls

Gently

In harmony

With the Native American flute

Resounding blissfully

In the ambiance

Of soothing showers

Songs of evening’s dawn

Chime in too

Nestled within nearby trees

Cacophony of life

Disturb thy reverie

Finding balance

Takes patience

Letting go

Determination

Summer’s rain

Falling ever so

Gently

Quietly

Has ceased

Birds chime in

Once again

Breathe deep

And let go

Its only life

Its disruptions

Its disturbances

Are only moments

That fleet by

Listen to the birds

Singing

Giggling with joy

And smile

Find your balance

Your harmony

Within all

That moves you

And

Just be

A wise one

Once said

Just be…..

It’s Deja Vu

Wind

Howling

Whistling

Once again

Rain

Rain

Rain

Howling

Whistling

Déjà vu

Wind

Wind

Howling

Whistling

Echoing

Again

Rain

Pelts endlessly

Upon the windows

Whistling

Wind

Circling and stirring

Déjà vu

Nestled

Within the castle

Upon a hill

As the breezes

Cold and damp

Seep through

Sending shivers

Pulling the blanket

Nearer to thee

Wind

Wind

Howling

Whispering about

Rain

Rain

Pelting endlessly

Déjà vu

And all

There is to do

But wait

Until the mirrors

Of déjà vu

Reflect no more

WIND & RAIN

Howling

Howling

Whistling

Through

The halls

Of the castle

Upon a hill

Breezes creep in

Wind

Rain

Wind

Rain

Howling

Howling

Sitting in the castle

Upon a hill

Candles flickering

Casting no light

It’s dark

Damp and cold

No warm tea

To calm

No fireplace

To dispel the chill

Wind

Rain

Wind

Rain

Howling

Howling

Whistling

Through the halls

Of the castle

Upon a hill

Silent and still

Within

Waiting

Waiting

Scribing

In the light within the darkness

Words upon

The pages

Secluded

Within the castle

Waiting for the

Mighty Atlantic

To cease its fury

Lashing upon

The rocks below

To cease

Its whistling haunt

To cease

Its pelting rains

Splashing against the windows

Wind

Rain

Wind

Rain

Howling

Howling

Whistling

Whistling

Is there any end?

Is calm near, my friend?

IT’S RAINING

It’s raining

Cascading

As a mountain’s fall

Listening

Watching

Nestled within the blankets

But you are not here

To comfort

To cuddle

You are not here

Missing you

Never forgotten

It’s raining

Torrents

Rushing down

From the sky

Wind in a dizzy

Howling

Nestled within the blankets

And you are not here

To comfort

To cuddle

You are not here

Thinking of you often

The memories

The reflections

Within photographs

The stories

Of our time

Together

Never forgotten

It’s raining

Cascading

Torrents

Of water

Wind immersed

In a dizzy spin

Howling

And you are

Not here

To bring me

Comfort and joy

Like you

Used to

It’s raining

And all

I can do

Is think of you
