SUMMER’S RAIN

Summer’s eve

Rain falls

Gently

In harmony

With the Native American flute

Resounding blissfully

In the ambiance

Of soothing showers

Songs of evening’s dawn

Chime in too

Nestled within nearby trees

Cacophony of life

Disturb thy reverie

Finding balance

Takes patience

Letting go

Determination

Summer’s rain

Falling ever so

Gently

Quietly

Has ceased

Birds chime in

Once again

Breathe deep

And let go

Its only life

Its disruptions

Its disturbances

Are only moments

That fleet by

Listen to the birds

Singing

Giggling with joy

And smile

Find your balance

Your harmony

Within all

That moves you

And

Just be

A wise one

Once said

Just be…..

To the Ordinary

Used

To think

That thy life

Was ordinary

Nowhere to go

Nothing wondrous

Hum drum

Drab and dull

Always wanting

To fly

With the birds

Still do

At times

Hum drum

Going through the motions

No direction

No purpose

Just existing

Walking life

Alone

Unattached

Free

Confessing

Treasure it

Words

Whispering through the wind

Through the voice of nature

Imagination

Unencumbered

Blossoming

Into stories

Inspiration

Streaming like the

Rays of  the sun

Moon

Glittering like

The stars

Then

Ordinary

Became not

So ordinary

It became extraordinary

With happenings

Unexplained

Different eyes

Seeing

Different ears

Hearing

Listening

Becoming attuned

Adventurous

Wonderment

Astonishment

Alone

Unattached

Free

Walking between

Ordinary and extraordinary

Learning

Patience

Being peace

Being Love

Being understanding

Whilst navigating

The way

Of thy life’s journey

When reflections come

Those moments

Spaces in time

No more

And yet

Some still are

Realizing

That ordinary

Is the mind’s game

Of what it

Life ought to be

But not so

Kept

Locked away

In the treasure chest

They reside

Unheard

Unseen

But hidden within view

Thy journey

Continues

To what end

Do not know

Yet to be revealed

Its purpose

Its destination

Unknown

Known

Is this..

Within the ordinary

Resides

Extraordinary

YOU TAUGHT ME

You taught me

How to find the light

How to find the love

How to laugh

How to sing in

Mind, body and spirit

How to dance within the symphonies of nature

How to rest beside a crackling fire

Watching the flames dance

Letting all cares drift away

Falling into meditative stillness

How to soar

With the hawks and the eagles

How to admire the sparkling diamonds

Within the night’s cloak

And dream

How to just be

Wherever I am

In stillness

Calm and serenity

But still working on that

You taught me

To just be the true me

To follow thy heart

Wherever it leads

To walk life

With peace and clarity

You taught me

How to find the light

How to find the love

The joy that shines bright

When all seemed lost

For all shall be well

You taught me

And now I see

The love, the beauty, the joy, the peace and the understanding

That resides in thee

And I am still blossoming

PEACEFUL SERENITY

Peaceful serenity

Under the rays

Cool breezes

Surround

The blue water

Shimmers

Serenades

Enchant

The afternoon calm

Amongst the Birchwoods

A bit of morning yoga

Restful

Healing

A moment in time

To chill

Restore

Watching the water

Ripple silently

Within the breezes

Picnic lunch

With some cold brew

Smooth and bold

Over ice

A splash of half and half

Sprinkled with spices

Read a book

Until inspiration

Struck

Nothing to do

But to chill

Under the rays

Gleaming and warm

Comforting

To the poetess heart

Nothing more

To be said

Nothing to do

Nowhere to be

But in

Peaceful serenity

With thee

LISTEN TO MY SONG

Come

To the Birchwoods

And listen to my song

Nestle

Among the trees

Listen to the

Sweet lullabies

That will

Make your heart

Leap with joy

Peace and delight

Dance with grasses

In the wind

Slumber

Beside the water lilies

In meditative reverie

Within the rays

Of soothing warmth

Laugh

With the plopping fish

Lift away

With enchantment

As hawks soar and glide

Relax

Watch the clouds

Fluffy and white

Form images

Then disappear

Blush with excitement

Exhaling in awe

As the butterflies

Dance around you

Displaying their cloaks

Of colorful

Lovely hues

As the red-winged blackbirds

Tease you

Darting to and fro

For they may stop

Long enough to

Sing you a song

Come into

The Birchwoods

And listen

To my song

Unwind

All day long

TIMES WHEN…

There are

Moments

When I wish

My life was different

But then again

Would I have the sweet memories?

Would I have my freedom and independence?

Would I have the simple comforts?

Or the humble pleasures to enjoy?

Would I be able to search within

And to know the beauty

Of thy own being?

As well as others

Would I be grateful?

So when

These moments

When I wish

My life was

Different

Due to life’s complaints

Coming and going

Through the revolving door

Patience

For the patiently impatient

Is needed

Life is a journey

In these moments

When I wish

My life was different

Every moment

Every memory

And being grateful

For what I do have

Is far more precious

Then wishing it to be different

Patience

For the patiently impatient

Life is a journey

And what is to come

Will unfold

In its own time

Patience

Patiently impatient one

All will be well

OMINOUS WINDS

Ominous

Evening

Once again

Whistling wind

Making its presence

Known

Nestled within

A stone abode

Resting upon

A hill

Sipping tea

Still and cozy

Breezes seep

Through elusive

Passageways

Sending shivers

Lavender

Ylang, Ylang

Comforting

Aromatic mist

Circling about

Scribing tenderly

Upon the pages

As the words

Flow from within

Whistling wind

Approaches

Anxiously awaiting

The mighty Atlantic’s

Chaos

Relentlessly

Holding onto her winter’s

Throne

Waiting

Waiting

For colorful fluttery

Friends

To rejoice in song

Warm breezes

Soft vivid hues

Sweet aromas

Subtle movements

Of the ponds and lakes

Shimmering

In the rays

As if gazing

Upon a showcase

Of glittering diamonds

Enchanting

Ocean breezes

As the waves

Come and go

In rhythmic time

Mesmerizing

With its

Many hues

Green, blue

Turquoise

And cobalt blue

Whispering wind

Echoing

Ominous

Breezes

Cold and damp

Scurry by

Sending shivers

Here we go again

Nestled within

Waiting

Waiting

Waiting

To see what

Transpires

And what words

Will fall from the pen

In the days ahead

But for now

Must learn

To be in the moment

Peaceful and calm

For now

Is all there is

And every day

Has a new beginning

So I have been told
